Jamie Foxx is finally sharing details about his 2023 near-death experience in his epic comedy special “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened?”
In April 2023, Fox was hospitalized while shooting a film in Atlanta. On the future, his daughter Corinne said on social media that the comic had “experienced a medical complication.” fox said later That his daughter, his sister Deirdre Dixon and scientific staff collected his age. He said he did not remember his childhood until he was three weeks old after fearing the unknown.
In his latest special, which was simple Released on NetflixFox said he had experienced a brain hemorrhage that ended with a stroke. He said he had been sleep-deprived for 20 days, and his condition was so serious that crowds would pass by his bedside while they worked to personally bookend the details of his condition.
Fox said, “I’ve been to hell and back.”
Fox said that once he woke up from his sleep, he found himself in a wheelchair and not able to move. The Oscar-winning actor said he needs to re-learn small tasks and rely on nurses for everyday needs like bathing. Doctors told him that it was treatable, but it would be a difficult process.
In particular, Fox showed how effective his treatment was. He sang, danced and played the piano, and said that his crowd and religion had helped him heal.
“CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King attended one of three tapings of Foxx’s special. King said he was “in good shape” on all the tapes, and said he was satisfied that he was able to tell his story.
“They played three nights in Atlanta to packed houses,” King recalled. “Nobody ever revealed what happened, because everyone wanted Jamie to tell it on his own terms.”
