President-elect Donald Trump is endorsing Republican National Committee (RNC) Wave treasurer to replace his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as co-chair of the group.
On Monday, Trump recommended Casey Crosby for a high-profile spot on his social media platform Reality Social.
The announcement came after Lara Trump revealed on Sunday night that she was stepping down from office.
In Monday’s announcement, the president-elect cited Crosby’s accomplishments with the RNC and his role in electing GOP lawmakers to Congress.
“Casey has served with distinction at the RNC as Treasurer of the RNC and National Committeewoman from the Great State of Kentucky,” Trump said in his remarks. “As Treasurer, he helped the RNC break every fundraising record in history, and strengthened the financial foundation of our party. Casey has been with me from the beginning, has helped get real Republicans across the country elected, and will be a tremendous co-chair of the RNC! Casey will work to ensure a highly functioning, fiscally responsible, and effective RNC that makes election integrity a top priority.
Stepping down as co-chair of the RNC, Lara Trump said she was proud of the three goals the group accomplished during her tenure. He said the committee wasted all fundraising data, created “the largest army of lawyers and poll watchers ever to ensure election integrity”, and “underrepresented millions of Americans during early voting (and under-represented ) turned out voters.”
The President-elect’s daughter-in-law has been credited with monitoring both houses of Congress and white areas.
His decision to let the placement fall through has fueled speculation about his political presence.

“If I were completely transparent, I don’t know what that would look like,” she said. “And if it’s something that’s realistic for me then of course I want to get all the data possible. “Although yes, I can believe it one hundred percent.”
Meanwhile, Trump-backed RNC Chairman Michael Whatley has announced that he will remain in his post.
